The Hobbit 2 trailer review

The Hobbit 2 trailer review
★★★★☆
With the trailer released yesterday I've decided to review The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug directed by Peter Jackson,Music Composed and conducted by Howard Shore,Screenplay by Fran Walsh,Phillipa Boyens and Peter Jackson,Based on the Hobbit by JRR.Tolkien

The trailer starts with a short monologue of the journey. The ruins of Erebor are exploited in the trailer and we see that Thorin has run into his frenemy:Thraundil. Lee Pace only showing himself briefly in The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey shows that his involvement could make the quest a whole lot more complicated. Thorin after showing his grudge for the elves seems more depressed than ever. Lee Pace shows in this glimpse of him in the trailer that even though he shown briefly that he can handle the role of a grand king, stern, strict and doubting the journey. It is hard to take him seriously since he was in box office flop 2010's animated comedy Marmaduke and in that I didn't find him that appealing so my opinion might change. We are shown the barrel sequence with some unusual CGI in the background and the fun of the sequence. Bouncing, barreling down the narrow pathway. We switch to Bilbo, happy looking after the problems of the predecessor through a large bush. He seems more happy and I don't think Martin Freeman's flawlessly awkward performance will  not go away. We see more footage of the barrel sequence and then we see the elves. Jumping around CGI and we see how this adds up to the first shot with Thraundil. They meet Thraundil getting caught by his soldiers.

We see are first shot of  Murkwood. On Peter Jackson's channel there is a piece of concept art of Murkwood. Seeing it for the first time I am amazed. It does look like a horrifically nightmarish place that been brought to life brilliantly. We see a large tag line similar to the last teaser trailer Beyond Darkness'Dramatically and then the thing that made lOTR run:Legolas. Bloom is filled with energy showing his relationship with dwarves and reminds of how he acted with Gimli. Beorn the bearman
Is shown, Bilbo scared out of his life and the dwarves are struggling to hold the bear. The CGI is amazing, showing realism and mastery. Evangeline Lily is seen as a strong actress and when we see her in character form she on strong form. Feisty. Strong. Goes against the men. We see Lily fighting and I think Laketown. It does have a similar appearance to Laketown. We see Lily and Bloom talking and that Legolas is more reckless than in lOTR. We see more of Erebor and the treasure trove and Bilbo sliding through mountains of gold. It seems Bilbo is enjoying his time on the journey. Gandalf and Radagast are waiting for the Necromancer and slightly annoying Radagast isn't being that annoying.  We see that Gandalf are prepared to meet Sauron and that we are going to see some Gandalf action. As we switch to Rivendell and the home of the elves we see Azog and the battle with the elves. An unexpected journey was more of a beginning and this seems to be a more exciting energy filled action packed film:
We see Murkwood spiders crawling up the derelict trees and The Bowman portrayed by Luke Evans. Evans is a strong actor showing his strengths in Fast and Furious 6. Evans with his warning voice warns them of Smaug. This is a selfish quest and will affect everyone. I mean everyone. We see Gandalf fighting Sauron and the clash between the scouts of orcs and elves. Various shots show Bilbo and the dwarves against various forces. The battle scenes looks visually audacious and we see the title shot:
THE HOBBIT:THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG
Then we see why it's called the desolation of Smaug.  A looming shot of the dragon chasing Bilbo. I hope to hear Benedict Cumberbatch's voice, his looming operatic voice going against the dwarves

This looks like an improvement of the Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey and this looks more exciting, less slow and greatly done. So this is a great trailer to watch.

10 things that Hulk 2 should do

10 things that Hulk 2 should do
★★★★☆
Now I will review the Incredible Hulk soon but at the minute it's sequel is in development. We have no know confirmations yet but the predecessor did suggest a few things. So I'll express my ideas,my worries and my highs especially my suggestions.
1. Keep Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner
I have to say I liked Ed Norton but Ruffalo's performance in the Avengers outshone Nortons. Keep Ruffalo because he feels like Banner and you can see him as Banner. But if reasons call for it he might need to act damaged which I don't think we've seen yet in this Hulk. Ruffalo is edgy, creepy,a little bit dark but I don't think he can match the human feel of Norton's Hulk showing the human problems he has so the performance might go the wrong way but I have hope in Ruffalo that he can do it.
2.Recast Tim Blake Nelson as Sterns
Tim Blake Nelson in the Incredible Hulk was a bumbling idiot. Nelson as Sterns was perfect for the mad scientist role with all the twisted words and his wide eyed amazement but as the Leader he needs recast. I can't see him as the Leader because of his look. The big forehead sure but the way the Leader acts, talks and thinks is the exact opposite of Nelson. The Leader is a smart tactual with smart motives good employer and powerful mastermind. Mark Strong,Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. All actors I would recommend. Even if it didn't exactly fit continuity reasons I would cast one of these people. Nelson just wouldn't suit with his weird face and actions.
3.Use the Leader as Villain
In the Incredible Hulk the Leader is teased in one of the scenes involving Abomination. Now the Leader should be strong and also knowing that Banner is Hulk he can do stuff. He can be like the Joker or Bane,a tactual thinker attacking people first and then he attacks the main hero. He could be the answer to Ross's problems as he's a hero now and he's Ross'es vendetta. If the Leader was an answer to Ross's problems maybe they would strike a cord make an alliance. With Ross's forces behind him he can control the military. The Leader can see himself as superior,a evolution of the human species although we have seen some antagonists like that before. We do not want another Lizard on Marvel's side. This needs to be a good version of the Leader not another fail.
4.Make the Abomination ally to the Leader
The Leader is smart enough to know Hulk's weakness'es and he saw as Sterns the transformation of the Abomination. Abomination is a mirror of Hulk in a way gone wrong and with his sights set on revenge so the Leader offering the Abomination a chance of revenge. The Leader won't be explicated about his plans and the Abomination is more like a toy, used to weaken Hulk for Stern's plan. The Abomination needs to develop slightly, make his appearance more Hulk like and show him a little bit evolved from his last appearance. We should see another fight between Hulk and Abomination more exciting thrilling and not rushed unlike the last one. We should see another use of Hulk smash.
5.Introduce Glenn Talbot
Glen Talbot in the 2003 Hulk was a confused, muddled antagonist. If you were to introduce  Talbot I would set some differences between him and Blonsky because I would suggest making him a soldier. He's dangerously fascinated by Banner and the Hulk so getting into Ross's division would get him a bigger chance of examining him. Talbot should be an antagonist because he's dangerous and wants Hulk for his own. He' a young Ross really. Ross should be more the redemptive one of the whole story. Talbot would save his career, make Ross stronger. I don't think making him a super soldier work because we have seen that before in the predecessor. Cast someone like Eric Bana,Nicolas Cage or even Idris Elba. I wouldn't mind about colour or race. I don't mind whatever they chose but if it's not the right person I don't think it would work.
6. Don't make it standalone
In Iron man 3 there was no mention of S.H.I.E.L.D just mentions of the Avengers. In this sequel we should see Nick Fury or Maria Hill trying to fight for Banner. I would like to see Fury or someone possibly go against Abomination as such like Fury firing a missile at Abomination and it is
defenceless against Abomination. I would like to see how the creators of the Avengers are dealing
with the problems they've created. We need to see how S.H.I.E.L.D are doing and how the Avengers fame is doing. Hulk is famous now. Now S.H.E,L.D see what's happening and they're going to defend Banner.
7. Make it more lighthearted
The Hulk we saw in the Avengers was a more lighthearted, humorous version and keeping that would make it more like the brilliant Iron man 3. The humour and the funny moments will keep the audience. I do have to admit the Incredible Hulk was too dark and it's gangs and everything. Now that the Hulk has changed we can now see a more lighthearted humorous Hulk filled with witty moments and well more Hulk sucker punches on people. Also more smashing. Now the CGI of Hulk in the Avengers was like 2003 all over again. Even though it imaged Ruffalo's features on Hulk we didn't see the hard, bulk ness of Hulk that was in the Incredible Hulk. He looked fierce in the Incredible Hulk while he just looks like Shrek and Hulk animated better. Just my opinion. Don't make it too Batman Forever colourful and stylish just some lighthearted humour and references,
8. Tease Hulk 3 with David Banner
The ending should be of well Banner's father appearing in the darkness. Ok so no Asorbing man but it is an idea. We already have a electrical villain in the form of Jamie Foxx's upcoming performance Electro. Banner was an abusive father of Bruce Banner who became Devil Hulk which is an interesting concept causing another villain. Banner is a ghost because I don't think Banner known much about his past and this could resurface the past and so. This is a very personal connection and in the threequel we could see that this will drive Hulk to the edge. Banner is the one watching Hulk and seeing what can get his son back. Banner is now a raging emotional monster when he finds out his past. It would make it more exciting and could make us see a better version of the character from the 2003 version.
9. Leave Red Hulk till Number 3
Yes Red Hulk would be great in the finale of Hulk 2 but we do not want to cram the movie. I don't think they can think fit it in without making this Spider man 3. If they do not use the plot I suggested they could fit Hulk in but it would have to be near the middle and the finale would seem a bit
muddled and hard to follow with two Hulks. The Leader is smart and if Abomination was to be beaten by the two Hulks the Leader is a more smart villain than a psychical villain but if he can try and stop them. Now William Hurt the portrayer of general Ross would like a heroic send off so leaving it to the third would save Hulk 3 from becoming Spider man 3 and make it more exciting thrilling and make it more climatic. We don't want to leave too much left that they run out of ideas but we do not want to ruin the movie with too much crammed in there.
10.  Make Betty Ross important
Betty Ross,Ross'es daughter was not,in my opinion very important. Yes she brought emotion to the
situation but was only a point to where Banner had an excuse to control the Hulk. So maybe make her a more prominent character searching for Banner. She is now trying to convince Ross that he's making a mistake and possibly we could see a kill off. If Betty was killed off possibly in Hulk 2 or 3 it would be a risk but it would make the Hulk a little bit more audacious, risky and dangerous. The Leader or David Banner could kill her but make her more important through the film. Liv Tyler. Could be replaced but I still think she fits in with the continuity of the universe and she suits the role.

Wrath of the Titans review

Wrath of the Titans review
★★★★☆
I am reviewing the sequel to Clash of the Titans to celebrate the development of Revenge of the Titans Directed by Jonathan Libesman,Starring Sam Worthington,Toby Kebell,Rosamund Pike, Liam Neeson,Edgar Remeriz,Ralph Fieness,Bill Nighty and Danny Huston,Written by Dan Mazeu and Dan Leslie Johnson,Story by Grey Berlanti(Green Lantern),Dan Mazeu and Dan Leslie Johnson(Orphan), Score composed and conducted by Javier Narrate(Pan's Labyrinth,Inkheart)

The film begins with a short prologue from the legendary Liam Neeson. It chronicles the time of Neeson's character Zeus's father Kronos and also how the predecessor of this film happened. As we see Perseus portrayed by the perfectly wooden Sam Worthington of predecessor fame. Worthington is a log, bland and emotionless making the dialogue seem dull and generic. He lives with his son after Io died. The start shows the simplicity and the normality of his life and also how Perseus reluctantly ignores and acts unaware of his inheritance. Worthington shows no life and energy what so ever in the entire film. As Perseus wishes to keep the past behind the past catches up with him. Zeus comes and Neeson's performance is grandeur, theatrical and utterly emotional even though the stupidenously stupid dialogue weighs the actor down. Perseus continuing his life while events get more climatic. Zeus,Posideon and Hades meet in Hade's domain:The Underworld. A spitting cathedral like spiral dark and distressing. Hades portrayed theatrically in muderous style by Ralph Fieness is a traitor making dark,in character quotes bringing a little bit more weight to this paper thin secondary antagonist. In the predecessor the character was shown with a little bit more weight,a little bit more relatability  and more understability. All he does is hold his sceptre in a grandous pose and argues with Neeson. As Hades tricks them using the muderous henchmen Makhai to weaken his brothers. Ares portrayed by Edgar Remeriz is as stale as Worthington. You feel no anger when there should be anger raging inside but no there is nothing but a piece of wood wielding and wacking a weapon about for no apparent reason. We go back to Perseus'es life and how the past caught up to him. A chimera grotesquely designed like the other creatures in this film. Breathing fire ravaging everything in sight with glorious effects rooming around it makes it feel like a unleashed beast on a muderous rampage

Perseus willing attacks the beast thrillingly fast paced and glorious at least showing the eerie grotesquesness of the beast. Perseus kills the beast showing an awkward silence after the death. As Perseus has renewed faith in his father, he comes to the eerie destroyed temple of the gods showing off all the grim tidings. Too many grim tidings. As Posideon portrayed goodly for once by Danny Huston he falls into sand and that is all. The left over ashes of him resemble that are gods don't live forever and they die in the most emotional way. Perseus leave for Andromeda and no majestic Argos to marvel at again just a small, puny camp filled with what looks like a TV dramatisation of the battle of Thermoplye no 300. Former Johnny English Reborn star Rosamund Pike shows a strong performance one of the only strong performances. She's demanding but has a strong sense of humour.  I don't Alexa Davalos would of suited this premise of the character but the problem is that Pike does not have chemistry with Worthington but Alexa has. They had so much with Andromeda in the first and they throw it all away for an improvement if she had a different premise from the first. That was the only way I see it could of worked but now it seems confused and muddled. Perseus looks for
Toby Kebell which I particularly wouldn't want to find myself. He is a good actor but the way he is written is like some stupid idiot that
lumbers around the most un charming character I have ever seen. Now no wonder Andromeda never
wanted to marry him. The dialogue in the prison scene is ridiculous and stupid. Just stupid. Andromeda with Perseus and Agenor try and find the island which shows that Agenor isn't that stupid. As they arrive on the island we see that they all aren't all alone. Giant Cyclopes that are exhilarating, a little dull and animated:Bad. I would recommend motion capture because they look stupid. It's an adrenaline rush, running and chasing but the score does not contemplate that feeling. I do like the score,no problem but the action sequences are made dull by the little use of score and the score. In the predecessor we saw Calibos and when they fight it's made exciting thrilling but somehow the score doesn't bring this sequence to life.  As Perseus stops them

We meet Bill Nighty or Hephastaus, his character. Nighty is quite amusing not as annoying as Agenor but he's fun. With a small reference to the 1981 original and a good showing of Andromeda's hope we see that things aren't going to well. The giant labyrinth is an interesting concept, showing every concept and how Hephastaus made it. As they try&find the start to the labyrinth we see that Ares doesn't want to  them to stop his plan and he'll do whatever he can do. Remeriz still doesn't improve with his acting and when they fight there isn't much fighting. Just sword bang, clash. No excitement what so ever. Remeriz does feel like he is merciless just not an angry jealous god. Andromeda doesn't really get her moment shine through dialogue:Yes though fighting:No. We don't see her warrior side throughout the entire film. As they get inside the labyrinth Hephastaus dies, sacrificing himself. The labyrinth is a cazam,an endless maze and it isn't really scary. Apart from it's moving traps,Indiana Jones Greek style and the bull man with a cold there's nothing really frightening about this place. As Perseus is tricked by his fears we see how his son is most important to him and then they switch for the most sluggish action sequence, disappointing is the word. All the
Minotaur does is do a rhino impression rams him,Perseus grabs the horn and he's dead. Quick. Very quick. Perseus gets inside and the others as we see that Zeus sees something inside Hades that is different. As Hades attempts to free his dying brother Ares doesn't want it to happen. Turning against his ally Kronos becomes resurrected and Perseus saves his dad. Zeus at his last breath is sent to the camp and we get our big finale. Perseus attempts to face Ares in the battle while Andromeda's army hold them off. The Makhai are gloriously designed creatures but they don't see as much glory as they should be having. They could be so much stronger but no little henchmen that 's all. The battle between Ares and Perseus is thrilling filled with blood and quite tragic. Perseus is forced to kill him and as the battle continues the finale isn't as thrilling as the predecessor. The predecessor has a thrilling chase involving furies, the Kraken and Medusa's head. Kronos is bigger and stronger than the Kraken. As Zeus and Hades joins forces we see that they're good brothers. As we see Perseus have a little romance,Zeus dies and then we see that Perseu's son isn't going home.
I give Wrath of the Titans 3.5 stars because it's an improvement from the predecessor,Pike's performances and the plot but it's weighed down by it's cheesy performances, kinda dull score, it's plot execution, disappointing twists and dull antagonists

My opinion on the Transformers/Gi.Joe Crossover

My Opinion on the Transformers/Gi.Joe Crossover
★★★★☆
Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has expressed interest in making a Transformers/Gi.Joe crossover. Lorenzo is producer of the Transformers and Gi.Joe Franchises and it is a possibility. A 4th instalment of the Transformers franchise is in production while a 3rd instalment of the Gi.Joe franchise is in development. I will be expressing my ideas,my worries,my highs&some things Hasbro should cut out
1. Make it after Transformers 4 and Gi.Joe 3

Introduce our characters first. Firstly Transformers 3 and Gi.Joe Retaliation didn't tease the crossover so why just throw in there suddenly? No reason why. Ripcord,Scarlett and Baroness have a possibility of returning so return Baroness or Ripcord in Gi.Joe 3 and then do Scarlett in the crossover. We need to see characters from the first rather than the second and the third. It could also tie the loose ends. We might have to wait a long time but Hasbro need to be sure these properties are doing well before saying we'll cross them over. Hasbro has got a lot of criticism for recent film Battleship so do they want another failure. Rise of Cobra and Revenge of the Fallen have been panned so is another failure in development?
2. Have a real,depth story
Gi.Joe Retaliation had one flaw, one big flaw:There was no story. Somehow you knew that there was a story but Hollywood had cut it all out because Rise of Cobra had too much story. Have a balance between story and action. A real connected story in the crossover making it smart and exciting. Make sure there is no dorky comedy. Some mild humour like Retaliation but not an overload. Not too much vulgar humour either. Throughout the whole Transformers trilogy there has been vulgar humour even one second the trilogy can not go without profanity, sex or sexy girls and that is the truth. I would like to see some new characters as well featured. As we saw in Retaliation they added characters that haven't been featured on the screen. See Firefly,Jaye and Mouse they are all cartoon characters and comic characters featured in the canon. I would love to see Duke return because they've got alien technology so they could resurrect him. Tatum was likeable in Retaliation for once. So I would love Duke back.
3.Choose the right screenwriter
Robert Orci,Alex Kurstman,Rhett Rhesse,Paul Wernick,Stuart Bettie,Paul Lovett,Ehren Kruger and David Elliot. All writers of the two franchises. I think the formula should be a previous writer of the two franchises and a new writer such as Michael Ardnt,Simon Kenberg,Drew Pearce or Stephen Marcus. We need somebody who can create smart, energetic action sequences while another writer concentrating on character dynamics, relationships and so and then the third writer working on moving along the story and the events. I want a writer such as or maybe David.S.Goyer who wrote Batman Begins with Nolan. He could make the characters, 3D,not paper thin, complicated, make you feel connected and relatable to them but not draw the fun out of them. Pearce would also be a good choice since he is having a hit at screenwriting with writing Mission impossible 5 and box office bomb Iron man 3. He would put out the vulgar ness and add real, pro witt to it all. Rheese would be more on the action while Kurstman or Orci would supply the sci-fi action and Goyer or Pearce doing story.
4. Don't rely on having a sequel
Hasbro might rely on a number of teases to get loads of profit and so. Try and make it not too standalone but varietise with all things you could do. What I liked about the Avengers was that it didn't rely on What's going to happen but what's happening now. It should be like the Avengers really a high octane action adventure team up which shows it's bright colours. Concentrate on what is happening now with the effects of events. I would love to see John Turturro back as Simmons with some connection to the Gi.Joes because he was fired and used to work for an agency. Maybe this is like S.H.E.I.D bringing them together. I do see the Accelerator suits returning as effects have improved and they need strong advanced technology then why not suits? No problem. Well I think they might be going for Pacific Rim with giant robots versus giant alien robots. Save ideas. We need to see something that can top this crossover, save ideas and connections. We need a little tease for the sequel or the two franchises and then leave us excited don't over do all the sequel references. Also in Rise of Cobra there was so many old Joe references like Knowing is half the battle and so. Do not feature those. I would like Bettie just don't overdo the whole references thing. So don't rely on the sequel
5. Make it unique
Don't get all the ideas crammed in one film. Make it spread out but don't make sluggish. Take time but not too much. As Retaliation has got criticised for too much action I did find it a little bit too similar to the A/Team meets the Fast and the Furious franchise apart from the pantomime villains and the destruction of London. Make some original changes and decisions with wit and style not making  it a Transformers 5 or Gi.Joe 4. Show connections between characters and make it exciting not generic and out of control. I would like something that is different from the las test trends, unique as I said. I would like the Joes to take control of the airship from Rise of Cobra. Make it fast paced, making it confident in it's own ideas. Hasbro better not be taking bits and pieces from the Transformers and Gi.Joe franchise. Make it witty and please make the music not dull and bland. Jackman's score was as bland as the movie with just small techno beats and none of the energy which the Seven nation army remix had so bring back Silvestri or Brian Tyler.
So this could be great,a dream come true. Maybe I'm asking a bit too much but I hope it won't be as bad as Battleship.
Transformers 4 is out on June 27th 2014
Gi.Joe Retaliation is in cinemas now
The Transformers trilogy is on DVD
Gi.Joe Rise of Cobra is on DVD

Star Trek into Darkness review

Star Trek:Into Darkness review
★★★★☆
Now I am reviewing the sequel to JJ Abram's 2009 adaptation of 1960's TV series Star Trek starring Chris Pine,Zachary Quinto,Zoe Saldana,Karl Urban,John Chu,Alice Eve,Bruce Greenwood,Leonard Nimroy, Peter Weller,Noel Clarke,Simon Pegg and Benedict Cumberbatch,Based on 'Star Trek' by Gene Roddenberry,Score composed and conducted by Michael Giacchino,Screenplay by Robert Orci,Alex Kurstman and Damon Lindelof,Directed by JJ Abrams,Produced by Bryan Burk,Alex Kurstman and Robert Orci.

The film starts off with a bang, not a firework neither an explosion just something different something a little more Star Trek. The First film as I reviewed relied a little bit more on action and really there really wasn't much planet exploring and so but as we see Kirk and 'Bones' running from a bunch of alien natives taken from POTC but not with cannibals. Pine oozing the rougish charm and mischievousness grin and Urban still the bumbling sidekick we saw in the predecessor we now see that Kirk and Spock's rivalry has gone down. At the minute Kirk and Spock are a little heated but they really are fine. As we see an epic sequence as Spock is jetted inside a volcano being thrown into desperate measures to save a planet. Uhara portrayed by Zoe Saldana relationship with Spock seems to be a more concerned one as later one we discover things are not going overly well for the couple. Spock near death really shows a variety of great emotions with Pine not just a joker but showing emotion and great dramatic weight oozing from his performance. Spock saved from the volcano seems to be a pain in the neck to Kirk. Bruce Greenwood returning as Pike really is more stern but more emotional that really contemplates the tone and with all these new rules such as alien natives discovering the Enterprise and it starting a war really brings the plot and the story up a notch and events begin to shape that Kirk isn't enjoying. As Spock is relying on his logic more than his emotion following the rules and raising the stakes on Kirk's nerves. Greenwood showing a fermness and seriousness that we never got to touch on in the predecessor and Pine delving into emotions we saw in the first few shots is broken. Now we switch to a family. Noel Clarke and an unknown actress. Now firstly the background piano score greatly evokes the emotion and feeling of this family. Just a piano solo nothing else nothing generic just an adding emotional experience. Clarke,I thought by look of marketing and trailers would of had a bigger part to play in the story but honestly he is as underused as many characters I've seen this year. Cumberbatch comes up and then London is attacked. Cumberbatch has a strong, villainous, theatrical performance delving into a villainous, theatre, Shakespearian like villain showing just great emotions. As we switch to Kirk hanging at the bar in the first film...

Pike comes and helps. Kirk's punishment is resolved yet his faithful friend Spock is being transferred. As we meet Admiral Marcus portrayed by Peter Weller holding the meeting we see Cumberbatch attack the meeting killing Pike and then the vendetta starts. Kirk taking down the ship has now a personal vendetta and as we see Spock delve into moral emotion Kirk decides to go to Marcus. Weller has a really old Pike feeling to him as he is a leader. Now Klingons are in the original TV series and several old movies featuring William Shatner and Patrick Stewart but this time their relationship with Starfleet is very heated. Now the truth to a number of missiles is a great twist. The twists are strong and hold the plot up and making the film feel more like what the first Iron man 3 trailer was. Now Spock is a much more rebellious first officer seeing that this is really not right. Spock just delves into a bunch of rules and Simon Pegg arguing constantly really shows that he isn't just good at comedy. Scotty gone down to Earth and Kirk unsure of his decisions we are sent into Kronos, home of the Klingons. Now we discover as Kirk with Spock and Uhara the happy couple have been fighting with each other and they begin arguing on the ship. The stakes are higher and attacked by a Klingon ship we get a fast paced action sequence involving the Klingons going on a little chase. Outgunned and at the edge our team trust in Uhara not to get them killed. As the Klingons, brilliantly recreated in a modern universe by excellent prosthetics are untrustworthy of them their taste for bloodshed goes a little bit higher than expected. The Klingons attack with extreme attack and weaponary and then the turn comes from Cumberbatch. Harrison leaps into battle, killing the Klingons with extreme prejudice and Hitman like moves providing a Bane like secaniro that this villain is both smart but physically talented as well. The Screenwriters keep on making more of twists turning round the constant visuals and images that we saw of the trailers and turning them on their poor little heads. Cumberbatch is a slow Shakespearian mover careful and smart but with no cold hearted charisma we saw in the Sherlock TV series.

Cumberbatch is quickly handed over without a problem and is a small similarity to the Avengers but no flaw. We see a curvy twist, unexpected, unpredictable and making this a film filled with surprises. Pine makes a conflicted performance with Kirk and then makes a choice which has just a similarity to Thor 2. Kirk calls Scotty as Kirk prepares to join with John and make Weller pay for his twist. Alice Eve in her performance is characterized as smart, emotionally conflicted and Eve does show those things. A fast paced, exciting action sequence squared out and characterized perfectly. As they threaten Weller after he does massacre the innocent crew and then it comes. A twist with help from Nimroy. Not hard to follow just a good surreal twist with every good ounce. The battle is paying off and as the finale begins to climb we see Kirk do something that he would never do before. The Enterprise bams and bangs into every living soul destroying everything and then Spock goes Kirk. Quinto and Cumberbatch are emotionally invested in the story and create great fight scenes. The twist changes and we see a great finale pay off with a different Kirk by our side.

So this deserves 5 stars because it's strong, invested cast with a balance of humour and heartbreaking Nolan action adding a more professional and fresh look to franchise and Michael Giacchino's great scorings that keep the movies going. As such I look forward to Star Trek 3 and hope that this is counted as one of the greatest Star Trek films ever made.
