★★★★☆
Now I will review the Incredible Hulk soon but at the minute it's sequel is in development. We have no know confirmations yet but the predecessor did suggest a few things. So I'll express my ideas,my worries and my highs especially my suggestions.
1. Keep Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner
I have to say I liked Ed Norton but Ruffalo's performance in the Avengers outshone Nortons. Keep Ruffalo because he feels like Banner and you can see him as Banner. But if reasons call for it he might need to act damaged which I don't think we've seen yet in this Hulk. Ruffalo is edgy, creepy,a little bit dark but I don't think he can match the human feel of Norton's Hulk showing the human problems he has so the performance might go the wrong way but I have hope in Ruffalo that he can do it.
2.Recast Tim Blake Nelson as Sterns
Tim Blake Nelson in the Incredible Hulk was a bumbling idiot. Nelson as Sterns was perfect for the mad scientist role with all the twisted words and his wide eyed amazement but as the Leader he needs recast. I can't see him as the Leader because of his look. The big forehead sure but the way the Leader acts, talks and thinks is the exact opposite of Nelson. The Leader is a smart tactual with smart motives good employer and powerful mastermind. Mark Strong,Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. All actors I would recommend. Even if it didn't exactly fit continuity reasons I would cast one of these people. Nelson just wouldn't suit with his weird face and actions.
3.Use the Leader as Villain
In the Incredible Hulk the Leader is teased in one of the scenes involving Abomination. Now the Leader should be strong and also knowing that Banner is Hulk he can do stuff. He can be like the Joker or Bane,a tactual thinker attacking people first and then he attacks the main hero. He could be the answer to Ross's problems as he's a hero now and he's Ross'es vendetta. If the Leader was an answer to Ross's problems maybe they would strike a cord make an alliance. With Ross's forces behind him he can control the military. The Leader can see himself as superior,a evolution of the human species although we have seen some antagonists like that before. We do not want another Lizard on Marvel's side. This needs to be a good version of the Leader not another fail.
4.Make the Abomination ally to the Leader
The Leader is smart enough to know Hulk's weakness'es and he saw as Sterns the transformation of the Abomination. Abomination is a mirror of Hulk in a way gone wrong and with his sights set on revenge so the Leader offering the Abomination a chance of revenge. The Leader won't be explicated about his plans and the Abomination is more like a toy, used to weaken Hulk for Stern's plan. The Abomination needs to develop slightly, make his appearance more Hulk like and show him a little bit evolved from his last appearance. We should see another fight between Hulk and Abomination more exciting thrilling and not rushed unlike the last one. We should see another use of Hulk smash.
5.Introduce Glenn Talbot
Glen Talbot in the 2003 Hulk was a confused, muddled antagonist. If you were to introduce Talbot I would set some differences between him and Blonsky because I would suggest making him a soldier. He's dangerously fascinated by Banner and the Hulk so getting into Ross's division would get him a bigger chance of examining him. Talbot should be an antagonist because he's dangerous and wants Hulk for his own. He' a young Ross really. Ross should be more the redemptive one of the whole story. Talbot would save his career, make Ross stronger. I don't think making him a super soldier work because we have seen that before in the predecessor. Cast someone like Eric Bana,Nicolas Cage or even Idris Elba. I wouldn't mind about colour or race. I don't mind whatever they chose but if it's not the right person I don't think it would work.
6. Don't make it standalone
In Iron man 3 there was no mention of S.H.I.E.L.D just mentions of the Avengers. In this sequel we should see Nick Fury or Maria Hill trying to fight for Banner. I would like to see Fury or someone possibly go against Abomination as such like Fury firing a missile at Abomination and it is
defenceless against Abomination. I would like to see how the creators of the Avengers are dealing
with the problems they've created. We need to see how S.H.I.E.L.D are doing and how the Avengers fame is doing. Hulk is famous now. Now S.H.E,L.D see what's happening and they're going to defend Banner.
7. Make it more lighthearted
The Hulk we saw in the Avengers was a more lighthearted, humorous version and keeping that would make it more like the brilliant Iron man 3. The humour and the funny moments will keep the audience. I do have to admit the Incredible Hulk was too dark and it's gangs and everything. Now that the Hulk has changed we can now see a more lighthearted humorous Hulk filled with witty moments and well more Hulk sucker punches on people. Also more smashing. Now the CGI of Hulk in the Avengers was like 2003 all over again. Even though it imaged Ruffalo's features on Hulk we didn't see the hard, bulk ness of Hulk that was in the Incredible Hulk. He looked fierce in the Incredible Hulk while he just looks like Shrek and Hulk animated better. Just my opinion. Don't make it too Batman Forever colourful and stylish just some lighthearted humour and references,
8. Tease Hulk 3 with David Banner
The ending should be of well Banner's father appearing in the darkness. Ok so no Asorbing man but it is an idea. We already have a electrical villain in the form of Jamie Foxx's upcoming performance Electro. Banner was an abusive father of Bruce Banner who became Devil Hulk which is an interesting concept causing another villain. Banner is a ghost because I don't think Banner known much about his past and this could resurface the past and so. This is a very personal connection and in the threequel we could see that this will drive Hulk to the edge. Banner is the one watching Hulk and seeing what can get his son back. Banner is now a raging emotional monster when he finds out his past. It would make it more exciting and could make us see a better version of the character from the 2003 version.
9. Leave Red Hulk till Number 3
Yes Red Hulk would be great in the finale of Hulk 2 but we do not want to cram the movie. I don't think they can think fit it in without making this Spider man 3. If they do not use the plot I suggested they could fit Hulk in but it would have to be near the middle and the finale would seem a bit
muddled and hard to follow with two Hulks. The Leader is smart and if Abomination was to be beaten by the two Hulks the Leader is a more smart villain than a psychical villain but if he can try and stop them. Now William Hurt the portrayer of general Ross would like a heroic send off so leaving it to the third would save Hulk 3 from becoming Spider man 3 and make it more exciting thrilling and make it more climatic. We don't want to leave too much left that they run out of ideas but we do not want to ruin the movie with too much crammed in there.
10. Make Betty Ross important
Betty Ross,Ross'es daughter was not,in my opinion very important. Yes she brought emotion to the
situation but was only a point to where Banner had an excuse to control the Hulk. So maybe make her a more prominent character searching for Banner. She is now trying to convince Ross that he's making a mistake and possibly we could see a kill off. If Betty was killed off possibly in Hulk 2 or 3 it would be a risk but it would make the Hulk a little bit more audacious, risky and dangerous. The Leader or David Banner could kill her but make her more important through the film. Liv Tyler. Could be replaced but I still think she fits in with the continuity of the universe and she suits the role.
